Calais Concerts (EN)
We're
looking for bands who want to play in the Calais refugee camp.
Obviously the conditions under which you'll be playing will be a
little unusual but when we played it was the most amazing experience
of our musical lives. However if your group wants to play you need to
remember:
- You won't be paid. At all. No riders, transport costs, nothing
- You must be fully autonomous. You'll have to take all your own equipment including instruments, amps, PA and mics etc. CARE4CALAIS does have a good generator that you can use but if you want to be sure that your equipment won't be damaged you'd be better to take your own. If you want insurance then it's up to you to sort it out.
- Don't forget that you're playing in a refugee camp. Although unlikely it is possible that you might turn up to play but because of the situation in the camp it won't be possible.
- Remember that that the volunteers, both from within the camp and external, could be stressed and very tired. Please don't add to that. Listen to what they say. It's great that you've turned up and are willing to play but you are their least important concern.
- The security of the refugees is paramount. Take no photos without express permission from the subject. If you take a photo of someone that ends up on social media you could jeopardise completely their chance of asylum.
- Try to play with the people in the camp rather than just to them. There are some really talented musicians, singers and rappers in the camp and they'd love the chance to express themselves musically with you. Let them, you really won't regret it.
- It's better to play during the day as at night time the camp frequently gets attacked by the CRS.

Nous
recherchons des groups qui veulent jouer au camp de réfugié de
Calais. Evidemment, les conditions seront inhabituelles mais quand
nous y avons joué c’était l’expérience la plus incroyable de
notre vie musicale.
Ceci
étant, si votre groupe souhaite participer, merci de noter :

Vous ne recevrez aucune rémunération. Du tout. Ni les extras, ni
les frais de transport, rien.

Vous devez être totalement autonome. Vous devrez prendre tout votre
propre matériel, y compris vos instruments, amplis, micro…
CARE4CALAIS dispose d’un générateur dont vous pouvez bénéficier
mais si vous craignez l’endommagement de votre matériel, nous vous
conseillons de prévoir le vôtre. Si vous voulez prendre une
assurance, c’est de votre responsabilité.

N’oubliez pas que vous jouez dans un camp de réfugiés. Bien que
très peu probable, il est possible que le concert soit annulé à la
dernière minute en raison de la situation interne.

La sécurité des réfugiés est primordiale. Ne prenez aucune
photo sans obtenir au préalable l’accord explicite du (des)
sujet(s). Si vous prenez une photo qui se retrouve sur les réseaux
sociaux, vous pouvez remettre en cause leur droit d’asile.

Essayez de jouer avec
les personnes du camp, plutôt que pour eux. Vous y trouverez des
musiciens, chanteurs et rappeurs extrêmement talentueux. Ils
adoreraient la chance de s’exprimer musicalement avec vous.
Laissez-les faire, vous ne le regretterez pas.

Mieux vaut jouer la journée car le camp est fréquemment ciblé
par les CRS la nuit
